Other areas
For those of you outside of the main cities, The Salvation Army often hosts meals around the state. Contact your local office to see what is happening in your area.

Many churches and councils also hold gatherings over the festive season so it could be a good idea to also reach out to them.

For those of you interested, here are some tips to help with loneliness this festive season:

Reach out: Call friends, neighbours, or family - even a short chat can lift spirits.

Join a local event: Even if it’s not a lunch, carols or church services can provide connection.

Volunteer: Helping others is a great way to feel part of the community.

Plan a small treat: A favourite meal, movie, or walk can make the day special.

Use technology: Video calls can bring loved ones closer.

Social isolation can be especially hard during the holidays. These events and tips offer a chance to connect, share a meal, meet new people, and make Christmas brighter for everyone.
