Introducing the ISLAND Project Podcast: Brain Matters

Brain Matters is our new ISLAND Project podcast which takes brain‑health headlines and puts them under the microscope, investigating what the research behind it is really saying.

Thank you to everyone who completed our recent survey to help shape this project. The name was a clear favourite, and the first episodes are being developed directly from your feedback and areas of interest. We also heard that many of you don’t regularly listen to podcasts and would like the option of audio recordings. In response, we’ve created a dedicated online portal where you can listen to episodes, like and comment on content, and continue the discussion. You’re also warmly invited to submit brain‑health articles you’d like our researchers to analyse in future episodes.

Brain Matters is hosted by ISLAND's very own participant and Community Advisory Group  member, Neil Broomfield (pictured right), and features expert guest researchers from within Wicking. Each episode helps you understand current research, how it applies to you, and how to feel confident about the choices that matter most for brain health.

Our first episode: 'Can Alzheimer’s Be Prevented by Targeting a Single Gene?', with Emeritus Professor James Vickers, is based on this article from The Guardian.

You can find Brain Matters (The ISLAND Project) on all major podcast platforms as well as the ISLAND portal. Listen and join in the discussion here: Brain Matters Podcast | The ISLAND Project
