ISLAND features in international review

The ISLAND Project has received international recognition in a recent publication on dementia prevention. The systematic review examined 12 population-level dementia prevention programs from around the world and included findings from one of our ISLAND publications which analysed the combined use of the Dementia Risk Profile (DRP) and the Preventing Dementia Massive Open Online Course (PDMOOC) for dementia risk reduction.

The review found that educational and digital interventions generally showed more consistent improvements in dementia risk knowledge and risk-reducing behaviours than broad public awareness campaigns alone. The ISLAND Project's combination of personalised risk information and structured education was highlighted as an example of a successful approach that helps participants move from awareness to action.

For ISLAND participants, this is a reminder that your involvement matters. The insights generated through ISLAND are now helping inform international discussions about effective approaches to dementia prevention. Thank you for your ongoing contribution.
