    We’re proud to share the 2024 Wicking Dementia Centre Annual Report, now available for you to read. This year’s report highlights the incredible strides we’ve made in dementia research, education, and community impact.

    Here are some of the highlights and achievements of 2024:

    • Global Accreditation for Education Programs-The Wicking Dementia Centre’s suite of aged and dementia care courses received official accreditation from Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI). This makes the Centre the first Australian institution to receive this recognition for its global leadership in dementia education. 
    • Expansion of Educational Reach - The Wicking Dementia Centre continued to grow its impact through free short courses, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, helping thousands of learners worldwide gain critical knowledge in dementia care.
    • Launch of the Tasmania Parkinson’s Project - In early 2024, we launched this new initiative to explore early detection and treatment of Parkinson’s Disease. The project was introduced at the 2024 Parkinson’s Symposium, featuring leading neuroscientist Professor Glenda Halliday.
    • Ongoing Research Excellence - The Wicking Dementia Centre maintained its strong research output, contributing to the understanding of neurodegenerative diseases and advancing evidence-based care models.
