ISLAND Update - February 2025

St Lukes seminars

In January we had the first of six planned ISLAND seminars in conjunction with St Lukes. Professor James Vickers took this opportunity to talk about the project in general as well as education and dementia risk. Thanks to those of you who joined us. For those who couldn't make it, you can find the recording at the link below, as well as information on future sessions in Hobart and Launceston.

Upcoming invitations

If you live in Hobart and surrounds you may receive one or more invites in the coming weeks. The Hobart blood collections start on the 5th March so if you submitted an EOI when completing your October surveys you will get an invite very soon. We also have TapTalk 2.3 and BRAIN Project invites, where a select number of people will be invited in to our research facility to do in-person tests. For more information on the BRAIN project please see the article below. You can find further information on TapTalk by following this link: TapTalk

Campus study

If you would like to be involved in the Campus study you need to be quick! Semester 1 starts on the 24th February. Everyone who expressed interest prior to the 9th January can see instructions on how to do this by clicking on the Campus tile within the ISLAND portal.
